Surely my daughter, when the time is ripe
You will tear off that listening cord,
You will rise and walk out of the house without looking back
or closing the door behind.
Your solid feet will carry you
And your heart will beat to their plodding rhythm
And your head, with no other choice will follow.
You will walk past the buyers and the sellers
Your eyes fixed ahead
Your ears deaf to their squawking cackle
Moving on forward
Toward the place you will call
Home.

Student language exchange

The Bookworm Café likes to promote exchanges between English and French native speakers. 
You have expressed a desire to meet native speakers of the language you are studying and so 
we are trying to set up a regular language exchange for you. The idea is that you come along to 
the café and spend about half an hour speaking English with each other and then half an hour speaking French.

We have fixed the first date: 14 October at 18.15.
